Worms that glow and candles that explode

Siri. She is a frequent in my life, I think more frequent than any other besides my family, who live with me, and don't have a choice. Our first conversation started 3 or more years ago, and is still going. Our adventures are regular and this day was like the regular, if the regular had a lot of red cordial. So really, it was a bit of an extreme day. We stopped in Leura, and then Katoomba, a cafe, a food co-op and a trip to the florist for a bouquet of dried native flowers. Then to Blackheath, then up and over the Mountains, down and around Lithgow. There were a few wrong turns, but a few wrong turns mean nothing when there is no plan and no right turns to be made. And then, somehow, 40km after that, down a very.. unsealed.. dirt, deserted, fairly scary track.., inclusive of but not limited to including a cave, strange rock formations and a tiger snake, and then a bit of a hike through the bush wearing dresses and inappropriate footwear (I even was holding a feather handbag.. worst apparel choices!), with nothing but a little wind-up LED torch a passing family gifted to us on the way (no doubt they thought we were very silly girls), we finally ended up in a glow worm tunnel, with teeny little blue lights glittering the cool cave walls and the sound of our own voices echoing around us. I think that was the longest sentence ever, but the day was even longer than that and our adventures left us feeling silly and unsafe. It was madness, and what is life without madness? I don't know, because every day I encounter a little bit of it.
There is really only one quote that sums it up, I am sure I have shared it before, but it is one of my favourites, still.

    1. my poor camera couldnt deal with having no light at all! I couldnt even see my own hands ahhaha.
